History When we organized the AdioRocksWevelgem back in 2005, our main goal was to present an indoor skateboard contest for Benelux’ best riders. Editions ’05 and ‘06 were very successful. Twice in a row we filled the house to the brim, with a hundred sponsored skaters, and a big enthousiastic crowd. The level of skateboarding was extremely high and from time to time overwhelming. Footage of the two previous contests can be viewed on www.adiorockszumiez.com
This years edition The level and quality of skateboarding in the Benelux has never been higher. Some of the Benelux’ skaters have easily reached international status. Wieger Van Wageningen, Evelien Bouillart, Axel Cruysberghs or Bas Janssen are household names in Europe and the States. A flourishing scene needs the ARZ-contest format to support it and time has come to invite more people from more countries. International pro’s such as Nick Dompierre (usa), Brian Sumner (uk), Alain Goegoitxea (esp), Thibaud Fradin (fr) have already confirmed their presence, along with other Adio ams Antony Schultz(usa) and Chris Troy(usa).
